Enjoying your own happiness while contributing to the happiness of others - that's the idea behind a special culinary event by hotelier Josef Schwaiger and gourmet chef Markus Lorbeck.

Gourmet chef Markus Lorbeck made a guest appearance at Hotel SEPP for two evenings in October 2018 with his pop-up concept "Interpretation Pinzgau". As part of the traditional Eder wild meat weeks, the well-known chef created a delicious six-course menu around the culinary theme at the live cooking station in the SEPP attic.

The limited tickets for the culinary event were quickly sold out. For the price of 149 euros per person, guests could enjoy a sumptuous gourmet experience: The menu with six delicious creations of the exceptional chef Markus Lorbeck as well as the wine accompaniment with fine wines from renowned wineries such as the winemaker Leo Hillinger offered exceptional culinary delights with true taste explosions! The extravagant ambience in the attic of the Hotel SEPP underlined the special atmosphere of enjoyment in harmony with the culinary delicacies.

Cooking for Charity

The gourmet experience was dedicated to a good cause: The proceeds of 30 euros per person were to be donated to a charitable initiative. A total of 1,300 euros was raised thanks to the event's numerous guests. Concerned about an appropriate charitable cause, the two initiators of the extraordinary event finally decided to donate the event proceeds to the fund for children with special needs in Maria Alm.

Thus, in March 2018, hotelier Josef Schwaiger from Maria Alm and Pinzgau star chef Markus Lorbeck presented a donation check in the amount of 1,300 euros to the non-profit platform in Maria Alm. Representing the fund, Greti and Fred Aberger accepted the check together with their daughter Lena. The proceeds will now benefit three families in Maria Alm. With this, the charitable initiative supports impaired children with assistance and aids that make the children's lives easier and more beautiful.

The declared goal of the culinary kick-off event was from the very beginning to combine the pleasure experience with a good cause. The fact that the idea met with such a positive response and raised such a handsome sum of money naturally encourages the initiators to continue. A continuation of the benefit event in the Hotel SEPP for collecting further donations is thus already in planning.
